Greg Abbott Says Ten Other States Have Deployed National Guard to Texas

Texas Governor Greg Abbott says at least 10 states have deployed their national guardsmen to support his state’s efforts to secure the border.

In a Friday interview with Abbott, Tucker Carlson asked the Texas governor to speculate about how many Republican governors would send national guard to the Lone Star State.

"There have been about ten so far that have sent national guard or other law enforcement," Abbott replied. "This is a fight for the future of America, and they all know it."

He added that he would be "shocked and disappointed" if almost all of them do not send troops.

Abbott’s refusal to allow federal border agents to remove razor wire the state installed along the Rio Grande to prevent illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and human smuggling has been met with overwhelming support among Republican governors.

At least 25 states have vowed to support Abbott.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt was one of the first state officials to publicly endorse Abbott’s refusal to submit this week’s ruling from the United States Supreme Court. He has now sent National Guardsmen to the border.

National Guardsmen from Montana have also been sent to the border.

Texas has a right to defend itself from the invasion at the southern border, especially when [President Joe Biden] won't,” said Governor Greg Gianforte on X. “Montana is grateful for your leadership, [Governor Abbott].”

Idaho Governor Brad Little confirmed on social media that he has sent two teams of state troopers to the border to help secure “our lawless southern border.”

"The Biden administration's continued failiure to secure the U.S. Mexico border has allowed illegal drugs, human smugglers, dangerous criminals, and a staggering record breaking number of illegal immigrants, including too many on our Terrorism Watch list," Gov. Little said.

"We have previously sent three teams of Idaho state troopers to the border to be a force multiplier to assist in the noble efforts of Texas," Gov. Little said.

"I'm deploying two more teams of Idaho state troopers to help Texas and serve again as a force multiplier at our lawless southern border," he continued. "I've tasked the troopers with learning all they can about combatting human trafficking so they can come home and stop this insidious crime in our communities."

He also blamed President Biden for the nearly 6 million illegal immigrants that have entered the U.S. over that three years.
